Day of workers of agriculture

Agriculture - one of the most important branches of economy of Ukraine. Depends on workers of agriculture that we will eat tomorrow and as these products will affect our life.

The day of workers of agriculture is celebrated in Ukraine according to the Decree of the President No. 428/93 of 07.10.93. Annually on the third Sunday of November. It is a professional holiday of workers of agriculture, the enterprises for processing of agricultural raw materials, the food industry, the procuring and servicing enterprises and organizations of agro-industrial complex.


In the territory of Ukraine there are 32 million hectares of the chernozem that makes a third of arable lands of all Europe. Thanks to it the country takes the third place in a pattern on export of corn, the fifth - on export of wheat. For 2015 the agro-industrial complex provides 14% of GDP and is the leading export branch of the country.

Sugar beet, potatoes, milk, meat, grain were and remain the principal products of agricultural production in Ukraine.
