Bukovel

Bukovel — the largest ski resort of Ukraine. It is located near the village of Polyanitsa Yaremchansky of city council, near a mountain Bukovel foot, at the height of 920 meters above sea level. The highest point of the resort — Dovga — 1372 m. The season lasts since the end of November till the middle/end of April. In 2012 Bukovel was recognized by the most high-growth ski resort of the world.

History

The history of the resort begins since 2000 when between LLC Skorzonera and The Horizon Is SCARLET the agreement on creation of a year-round recreational complex was concluded.

At the end of 2001 starting works on start of the first ropeway of a complex — the elevator 691 m long on a northern slope Mr. Bukovel were carried out. Options of placement of the parnokreselny ropeway on a northwest slope Mr. Bukovel were in parallel developed. In September-October, 2002 this project was realized in the form of the ropeway 1000 m long.

Opening of the second slope — the route 2A and the double chairs elevator took place in 2003. In 2004 the route 7A on which the surface lift was placed was open, and preparation for creation of the alpine skiing arena is begun.



In 2003 in the territory of Bukovel Group 48 thousand people, in 2005/2006 — 206 thousand had a rest. In 2006/2007 400 thousand persons became guests approximately. During the season 2007 — 2008 resort was visited by about 850 thousand unique tourists. In 2010/2011 in the resort 1,2 million day visits were registered. 8% — 10% of total of vacationers are made by foreign tourists.

In the fall of 2015 Bukovel for the first time became the venue of the most mountain competitions in a thriathlon. On it sports events didn't end - in June, 2016 in the resort carried out one more thriathlon which brought together twice more athletes, members of the media and just wishing to watch competitions. Bukovel plans to become the sports capital of Ukraine.

Routes and elevators

Bukovel is located on five mountains: The Dovga (1372 m), Bukovel (1127 m), Bulchinekh (1455 m), Woman's Pogar (1180 m), Black Is cool (1241 m) offering in total 60 km of routes (blue, red and black). On all routes there are snow canons, several routes are equipped with stationary lighting.

The declared period of functioning of skiing runs — November-May though on weather conditions it isn't always carried out fully.

Routes pass on specially prepared slopes, are equipped with snow guns, prepared for driving by the special snegonapylyayushchy and snegotrambuyushchy equipment. During a season in the resort 16 modern elevators with the general capacity of 34700 function persons / hour.

Height difference: from 40 to 285 m.

In addition, there are several elevators for beginners (multielevators and the band elevator).

Bukovel Ski School

Alpine skiing and a snowboard the Bukovel school was founded in 2001 by managers of Bukovel ski resort and mountain skiing and snowboarding coaches.

Activity of school is directed on:

training of people of all age categories,

training of professional athletes,

mountain skiing and snowboarding competitions

organization of programs of the children's sports Bukovel camp

promotion of a healthy lifestyle and mountain skiing

All instructors of school were trained according to the international standards of training of instructors alpine skiing and сноуборт sport — ISIA.
